Actress Kang So-ra comes out as CJ CGV prepares a place for cultural exchange with Korean films in Indonesia.
CJ CGV (CEO Choi Byung-hwan) announced that it will hold the 10th Korea-Indonesia Film Festival (hereinafter referred to as Han-Inni Film Festival) in Indonesia for four days from today (10th) to 13th. The festival will be held in five local CGVs, including Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Medan and Surabaya. This year, actress Kang So-ra will attend as a public ambassador.
The Han-Inni Film Festival is hosted by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Indonesia and co-hosted by CJ CGV. The event introduces the Korean-Wave culture through K-pop and K-drama along with K-movies, which are popular in Indonesia. Every year, local film producers and actors and various film industry officials attend.
In this year’s film festival, the opening films’ ‘THE BAD GUYS: REIGN OF CHAOS’, 15 latest Korean films, including ‘The Battle: Roar to Victory’, ‘EXIT’, ‘Tazza: One Eyed Jack’, ‘Extreme Job’, ‘Miss & Mrs. Cops’, ‘The Divine Fury’, ‘PARASITE’, ‘The Gangster, The Cop’, will be screened. There are also five Indonesian movies on screen, including ‘Keluarga Cemara’, ‘Du Garis Biru’, ‘Sunyi’, and ‘Dilan 1991’.
At the eve event held in Jakarta CGV Grand Indonesia (GI) on the 9th, the original film Sunny and ‘Bebas’ the Indonesian version of Sunny, produced by CJ ENM, were screened at the same time.
Actress Kang So-ra, who played the main role of Ha Chun-hwa in the film Sunny, and the leading actress Bebas, had a meaningful time meeting the audience and talking about the film.
“I am honored to meet Indonesian fans who love Korean films so closely, The movie Sunny was remaked and released in Indonesia, and it is still loved so much, so I am really proud and happy.” Kang So-ra said. “I would like to see the collaboration of cultural contents between Korea and Indonesia actively through good works in the future, and I will try to make a lot more affection for new and diverse contents.
The opening ceremony at 7:00 pm (local time) will be attended by South Korean Ambassador Kim Chang-bum, Indonesia’s Creative Economy Commissioner Triawan munaf, and Indonesian government and film industry officials.
