The manipulation of the audition program viewer voting, which began with ‘Produce X 101’, will be expanded to all seasons. As a result, members from I.O.I and Wanna One could not avoid negative eyes.
The police sent PD Ahn Jun-young and general producer Kim Yong-beom, who were accused of “ producing X 101 ” voting to the prosecution on the 14th with prosecution opinions. It was found that there was a difference between the final results of the season 1 and 2 voting and viewer voting data.
Originally, Ahn denied allegations of manipulation during Season 1 and 2, but it was reported that the police also captured the situation through the analysis of the data, so that the related parties could not avoid further investigation.
‘Produce 101’ is a program planned by the former Mnet PD Han Dong-cheol, who is currently in YG Entertainment. Han PD participated in the production of Season 2, and then left Mnet, signed a contract with YG Entertainment, and directed an entertainment program such as ‘Mix Nine’.
On the other hand, a total of 10 people were sent to the prosecution, including Kim CP and Ahn PD. When Ahn PD was escorted by police, leaving only the words “sorry” to the media’s question of accepting the charges.
A police official said, “As a matter of great public interest, we will continue to investigate the remaining doubts.”
Ahn PD and others have been accused of manipulating the results of paid text voting by viewers to benefit certain candidates in the ‘Produce 101’ season 1 ~ 4 live broadcast, which began in 2016.
Immediately after the last contest in July, the controversy over the production of ‘Produce X101’ was triggered by an analysis that the number of trainee votes from 1st to 20th was a multiple of a certain number. As the controversy escalated, Mnet requested a police investigation for some of the producers of the Produce X101.
Since Ahn PD’s admission of crime, the group, IZ*ON, and X1, who were born through Season 3 · 4, have virtually suspended their activities.
