Actor Lee Byung-hun revealed the reason for appearing ‘The Man Standing Next’.

The press conference of ‘The Man Standing Next’ was held at the CGV Apgujeong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on December 12. Actors Lee Byung-hun, Kwak Do-won, Lee Hee-jun, and director Woo Min-ho attended.

Lee Byung-hun played the role of Kim Gyu-pyeong, the head of the Central Intelligence Agency Korea.

Lee Byung-hun said “When I read the scenario and I felt hot in my heart. Based on the real story, I thought this movie was very stylish noir in genre. I was so much excited.”

‘The Man Standing Next’ draws 40 days of story In 1979 before the Central Intelligence Director(Lee Byung-hun), who was called the second power man, assassinated the president of the Republic of Korea.

‘The Man Standing Next’ is based on nonfiction best seller of the same name

 The original series has been serialized in the Dong-A Ilbo for two years and two months, and the book was released in both Korea and Japan, producing a total of 520,000 copies. The author, Kim Chung-sik, won two Korean journalist awards and wrote a series of ‘The Man Standing Next’ with a full commiitment.

It is the second encounter between Lee Byung-hun and director Woo Min-ho ‘Inside Men’, and dramatic actors like Lee Sung-min, Kwak Do-won, and Lee Hee-jun’s new acting transformation and hot performances are expected.

It will be released in January next year.
