Gwangmyeong Cave

Gwangmyeong Cave is a cave theme park built in an abandoned mine that has become a tourist spot.

The total length is 8.7km and the depth reaches 275m.

There are many highlights such as the aqua world where you can enjoy the light space and fish full of illuminations, the fantasy festival popular among game and anime lovers, the golden road where wishes come true, and the wine caves where you can taste Korean wine.

Gwangmyeong Cave was originally called Siheung Mine and was established in 1903.

Ore has been mined for a long time, but in 2011, this cave was purchased by Gwangmyeong City and opened to the general public as a cultural tourist spot.

It is now a popular cave theme park in Korea that combines industrial heritage and cultural value.

A giant dragon by Weta Design is known for the production of “Lord of the Rings”

According to Coal Corporation data, there is a record of 52 kg of gold that was mined from 1955 to 1972. Therefore, it is said that a lot of gold is still sleeping in this cave.

You can enjoy local wine at Gwangmyeong Cave.

The wine cave where wine is stored has an average temperature of 12 to 13 degrees and is suitable for storing and aging the wine.

There is also a wine restaurant in the cave so you can enjoy wine from all over Korea while eating.
