Bong Joon-ho’s ‘Soju One Glass’ nominated for Oscar Song Shortlist… Park Seo-joon and Park So-dam are also excited by the Oscar nomination

Actor Choi Woo-sik was amazed at the unexpected news. That Bong Joon-ho’s film parasite was nominated for Best International Feature Film came as no surprise but the song he sang in ‘PARASITE’ was nominated for a surprising category : Best Original Song.

The actor posted a photo of a preliminary list of candidates for the 92nd Academy Awards on his SNS with the words of ‘Soju One Glass’ sung by me at the movie ‘PARASITE’.

The American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences(AMPAS), which hosts the Academy Awards, announced the preliminary nominations for the 92nd Academy Awards this morning (Korea time).

In particular, Bong Joon-ho wanted the end credits song to be sung by actor Choi Woo-sik, who plays Ki-woo, the son of the film’s poor Kim family. Actor Park Seo-joon congratulated with saying “Oh ㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ ㅋㅋㅋ”, and Park So-dam, who appeared as a sibling in ‘PARASITE’ also left a comment saying, “Hey Kiwoo, sing the song live, please.”

‘One Glass of Soju’ will compete with fifteen other cinematic songs, including ‘Speechless’ from Aladdin, ‘Into The Unknown’ from Frozen 2, and ’Never Too Late’, ‘Spirit’ from The Lion King.

The 92nd Academy Awards will be held at Hollywood Dolby Theater in California, USA on February 9, next year.
