Korean-American actress Awkwafina won Best Actress at Golden Globes.

The actress Awkwafina became the first woman of Asian descent to win a Golden Globe in the Best Performance By An Actress In A Motion Picture-Musical Or Comedy with the film ‘The Farewell’ at the 77th Golden Globe Awards at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, USA.

Born between a Korean mother and a Chinese father, she is an American actress and rapper.

 She made a strong impression by appearing as Goh Peik Lin in the film “Crazy Rich Asians,” which led the Asian craze in Hollywood.

Last year, another Korean actress, Sandra Oh, also won two Golden Globes for Best Actress – Television Series Drama with the BBC America spy thriller series ‘Killing Eve’, becoming the first woman of Asian descent to win two Golden Glove Awards. Good news for the two consecutive years is that the film industry is truly festive.

Meanwhile, Bong Joon-ho’s Parasite won the first foreign film award in Korean film history.
