Lee Minho and Kim Go-Eun together in the new drama “ The King: Eternal Monarch”

The new SBS Drama The King: Eternal Monarch is set to premiere on April 17th. The series will include 16 episodes.

The story is about a Korean emperor named Lee Gon, played by Lee Minho and a detective, Jung Tae Eul, played by Kim Go Eun. As the doors to a parallel world were opened by demons unleashed into the human world, Jung Tae-eul tries to protect people she loves while Lee Gon does everything to close these doors. The story will unfold the encounter of an Emperor coming from a parallel world where Korea is a constitutional monarchy and a detective living in a world similar to Korea today.

Expectations are high for this drama, as it will be the first Lee Minho appears in over 4years. The other main character is played by Kim Go-Eun, and viewers are curious on how the pair will create a romantic and exciting story.

Most of you have surely already heard of Lee Min-ho (이민호), an actor, singer and model in South Korea. One of his most famous role was Gu Jun-pyo in Boys Over Flowers in 2009. The 32 years old actor started his career over 10 years ago, and didn’t appear in any drama or movies since 2017. He began his mandatory military service in May 2017 and was discharged in April 2019. His fans are excited for his return on the screen, therefore The King: Eternal Monarch, is a long awaited drama that will probably have a lot of success internationally, as it will also be available on Netflix.

Kim Go-eun (김고은) is 28 years old Korean actress who debuted in the movie A Muse in 2012, and mostly gained fame for her roles in Cheese in the Trap, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God (Goblin 도깨비).
