Director Choi Jong-tae of documentary film “Beyond That Mountain,” revealed his impression of releasing in the midst of the pandemic.
On the afternoon of April 20, actor Lee Hang-na, Ahn Nae-sang, Lee Kyung-hoon, Jung Sng-hyun, Lee Seul-bi, Kim Dong-hwa, and film director Choi Jong-tae attended the stage greetings of the upcoming film ‘Beyond That Mountain’ at the CGV Yongsan iPark Mall in Seoul.
Director Choi Jong-tae said, “After seeing the theater full of audiences for a long time, I am very impressed. The whole world is currently experiencing great difficulties due to coronavirus outbreak, and Korea is becoming a hope”.
Director continued “I hope the film ‘Beyond That Mountain’ is another hope. Due to COVID-19 outbreak, we’ve learned a lot about what we have forgotten. I hope it will be a reason to realize through the movie.”
Meanwhile, ‘Beyond That Mountain’ is a healing movie that depicts the story of a dreamy 7-year-old boy who grew a special seed in his heart during the poor but happy days. This is the first biographical film about the childhood of Cardinal Kim Soo-hwa, who embraced everyone and was loved by all beyond religion and faith.
In particular, author Kim Hong-shin, well know writer of the best-selling ‘Human Market’ praised the movie, saying ” This movie showed the magic of hugging a lonely one, comforting a sad one, and stimulating the tear glands of those who want to cry, pouring out a depressed heart.”
And the writer continued “I am presenting this movie for a milestone for those who are frustrated by the outbreak, that there is hope and freedom beyond ‘that mountain’. The film shows the value of the love of all mothers on earth and the value of humanity, true freedom and true love through Cardinal Kim Soo-Hwan, who most beautifully penetrated our era.”
The film is based on a novel of the same title written by children’s story writer Jung Chae-bong. The film ‘Beyond That Mountain’ will premiere on April 30.
