BTS wrote new history again with BangBangCon… Draws over 50 million views-2.24 million people watching simultaneously

BTS wrote a new history. Starting at noon KST each day on April 18 and 19, BTS streamed BTS ONLINE CONCERT WEEKEND (hereinafter referred to as ‘BangBangCon’) through their official YouTube BANGTANTV. The online streaming festival lasted about 24 hours and recorded 50.9 million views and there were over 2.24 million people watching simultaneously!

As the title of ‘BangBangCon’, ARMY around the world enjoyed a concert of BTS in their room. BTS tied up the actual performances shown in the previous concerts and fan meetings together and decorated it like a concert.

BTS created a new culture of cheering and watching “at home together” as the fans keep the Untact (non-face-to-face) Era’ due to the COVID-19 pandemic to share a special experience.

On the first day, April 18, the event consisted of ‘2015 BTS LIVE <The Most Beautiful Moment in Life ON STAGE>’ and ‘2016 BTS LIVE <ON STAGE: EPILOGUE>’, ‘BTS 2014 LIVE TRILOGY: EPISODE II THE RED BULLET’ concert and 2016 fan meeting ‘ BTS 3RD MUSTER [ARMY.ZIP +]’.

In the concerts of 2015 and 2016, BTS ‘singing ability and dynamic choreography stood out, such as ‘House Of Cards’, ‘Danger’, ‘Dope’, ‘Boy In Luv’, ‘FIRE’ and ‘I NEED U’.

The concert held in 2014 caught the hearts of fans with the stage that shines with the spirit and fresh charm of BTS members such as ‘No More Dream’, ‘Rise of Bangtan’ and more. In addition, there were plenty of things to see, including a fan meeting where you can see the various charms of the members.

On the second day, April 19, ‘2017 BTS LIVE TRILOGY EPISODE III THE WINGS TOUR IN SEOUL’, ‘2017 TRILOGY EPISODE III THE WINGS TOUR THE FINAL’, ‘LOVE YOURSELF SEOUL’ and fan meeting held in 2018, ‘BTS 4TH MUSTER [HAPPY EVER AFTER]’ were unfolded. It shows the appearance of BTS that has grown and developed.

Most of all, what is noteworthy in this ‘BangbangCon’ is that it presented a new culture of spectating by gathering ARMY from all over the world beyond watching simple performances.

Big Hit Entertainment provided fans with a new experience by connecting light sticks (AKA ARMY BOMB) around the world through the community platform Weaverse. When watching BangBangCon via Weaverse, you can connect ARMY BOMB through the Bluetooth, so that the color of light stick changes in real time according to the song. The fans can experience as if they are gathering in one place and cheering together.

Over the two days, about 500,000 ARMY BOMBs IN 162 regions were connected for the show, and real-time comments cheering BTS on YouTube’s ‘BTS’ as well as SNS and Weaverse poured out. Fans shared the appearance of enjoying the concert with the hashtag ‘#BangBangCon’ on SNS and Weaverse. Many fans loved how this created a feeling that they were all experiencing the same thing and cheering on BTS together, like they would be at a concert together at home.
