‘Queen of Sound’ source, IU announced a surprise comeback in May.

On April 27, EDAM Entertainment announced IU will be releasing a digital single and a music video along with the music on May 6. IU will be returning in 6 months after releasing 5th mini-album ‘Love poem’ and in 3 months when including the TVN ‘Crash Landing on You’ OST, ‘Give You My Heart’, which was released in February.

As a singer-songwriter, IU participated in every stage of the production process, from composing the music and lyrics to mapping out the overall concept for the single, which is in the final stages of preparation for release.

While the singer has already finished filming the music video for the upcoming song, the news of collaboration with Suga was enough to give a surprise to music fans. The two musicians born in ‘93 were known to share no similarities at all but they have expressed to respect each other’s music.

A spokeperson for EDAM Entertainment said about the collaboration with Suga, “As musicians of the same age, IU and Suga were able to relate to one another and use that as a foundation for exchanging opinions. The two created their own unique synergy, which is reflected in their song.”

Suga participating in the ‘secret weapon’ for IU’s new song has been recognized for his prowess through producing BTS’s hit songs, solo mixtapes, collaboration with Lee Sora, Suran and many artists. This teaming up will be expected to bring any changes to the music style of IU.

With giant idol groups’ May relayed-comeback notice, IU and Suga’s collaboration is also expected to provoke massive perturbations into music charts that haven’t changed much over the past few weeks.
