‘Paper Flower’ starring Ahn Sung-ki honored by Houston Film Festival

‘Paper Flower’ starring Ahn Sung-ki received the Platinum Remi Award and Best Actor Award at the 53rd World-Fest Houston International Film Festival in the United States.

Road Pictures announced on May 8 that ‘Paper Flower’ won the two crowns at the film fest this year, which was held online last month.

As such, Ahn Sung-ki became the first Korean actor to hold the honor of the best actor at the film festival. The judges evaluated, “Actor Ahn Sung-ki was able to provide a very nuanced yet profound ability to portray his character’s deepest feelings with great clarity, empathy and dignity.”

The movie ‘Paper Flower’ is about a funeral director Sung-gil (Ahn Sung-ki), who lives strong taking care of his son Ji Hyuk (Kim Hye-sung), who was paralyzed in an accident, once again dreams of hope. Eugene and Kim Hye-seong also appeared.

Meanwhile, World-Fest Houston International Film Festival has been founded in 1968 to raise the motivation for independent filmmakers to produce and honor works that excelled in the film sector. The festival was conducted entirely online this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
