‘Hansan : The Emergence of Dragons’, the sequel to the hit movie ‘The Admiral: Roaring Currents’ is set to start production.
Lotte Entertainment, a distribution company said on the 15th, “‘Hansan : The Emergence of Dragons’ is scheduled to start filming on the 18th. The film will be directed by Kim Han-min, who directed ‘The Admiral: Roaring Currents’, which surpassed with the record 17.6 million admissions and became the most-watched and highest-grossing film of all time in South Korea”.
The movie ‘Hansan : The Emergence of Dragons’ tells the story of the Battle of Hansan Island, a battle between Korean and Japanese naval forces that happened in 1592, where Admiral Yi Sun-sin and Chosun Navy struggled to defend Chosun from the defensive.
Park Hae-il (Lee Sun-sin) and Byun Yo-han (Wakizaka) An Sung-ki (Eo Young-dam) Son Hyun-joo (Won-gyun) Kim Seong-gyu (Joonsa) Kim Sung-gyun (Gato) Kim Hyang-ki (Jung Borum) Ok Taek-yeon (Lee Jun-young) Gongmyung (Lee Euk-gi) Park Ji-hwan (Nah Daeyong) and Cho Jae-yoon (Manabe) also confirmed to the roles.
An official said, “‘Hansan : The Emergence of Dragons’ has been pre-designed and prepared for the restoration and performance of the turtle ship that was not seen in its prequel, ‘The Admiral: Roaring Currents.’ The production team devoted themselves to 10 months of pre-computer graphic visual work. It will show a special effect that is one step further than the previous work.”
‘Hansan : The Emergence of Dragons’ is scheduled to start on May 18 and is expected to be released in the summer of 2021.
