Global hip-hop label H1GHR MUSIC participated in the BLACKOUT TUESDAYY and BLACK LIVES MATTER protest.
As H1GHR MUSIC has supported ‘BLACK LIVES MATTER’, its artists participated in the BLACKOUT TUESDAYY campaign, and the label and artists gathered their hearts to donate $21,000 to organizations supporting the movement.
The BLACKOUT TUESDAYY movement is being held for the purpose of promoting commemoration and fundamental recurrence in the music industry as protests intensify in protest against the so-called “Death of George Floyd”, in which an unarmed black man died due to hard-pressed white police.
On the 2nd, H1GHR MUSIC announced, “As an agency influenced by black music and culture, the label has decided to participate in the ongoing BLACK LIVES MATTER protest which was spurred in the United States after the death of George Floyd.”
H1GHR MUSIC stopped working on Tuesday to join the movement to create an opportunity to think about what the music industry can do for support for the black community and for an advanced society. Following the previous donation for COVID-19, various movements have been made to contribute not only to music but also to social culture.
In particular, various labels such as Amazon Music, Apple Music, Live Nation, Universal Music Group, and Sony Music, as well as H1GHR MUSIC, show support for the movement, and more attention is focused on joining this H1GHR MUSIC campaign.
H1GHR MUSIC said, “We think it’s natural to join Blackout Tuesday as a company that aims for black music. The head office and its artists express their sincere support for the BLACK LIVES MATTER movement.”
Accordingly, H1GHR MUSIC announced they would be holding off on new-music releases planned for June 2-4 as part of the music industry’s BLACKOUT TUESDAYy.
