Ahn Hyo-Seop & Kim Dami won the Best New Actor and Actress Award at the 56th Baesang Arts Awards

[Maeil Business Star Today Kim So-yeon] Actors Ahn Hyo-seop and Kim Dami were honored with the best new actor and actress award which was only once in actors’ career. On the 5th, at the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards held at KINTEX, actor Ahn Hyo-seop and actress Kim Dami won the Best New Actor and Actress Award in the TV category. The awards honour was bestowed on Ahn Hyoseop who played the role of a sensible and wounded genius doctor, Seo Woo-jin as SBS ‘Dr. Romantic 2’, and Kim Dae-mi, who played the role of genius Sociopath, Jo Iseo at ‘Itaewon Class’. Ahn Hyo-seop said humbly, saying, “Thank you. I can stand here not because I’m good, but because of many staff, writers, directors and fellow actors.” The actor, who expressed his gratitude to his fans, family and friends, continued, “I want to express my respect and gratitude to the medical staff who are struggling day and night.” Kim Dami said, “Last year, I came to the Awards alone, and this year I am happy to come with actors. I am honored to be among the great candidates. And Thank you for the prize.” The actress added, “There was a lot of pressure while shooting the first drama, but I thank the director for always believing and having fun acting. I’ll show you a better look.” The Baeksang Arts Awards is the only comprehensive art award ceremony in Korea that encompasses TV and movies. It began in 1965 and is awarded the Grand Prize in the TV category, such as dramas, entertainment, and liberal arts programs.
