PD, Hwang Seung-gi of the ‘Run for the Election’ has recently explained the controversy over political bias.
On the afternoon of the 1st, an online production presentation was held for KBS2’s new tree drama ‘Run for the Election, giving up employment’ (the script Moon Hyun-kyung, directing Hwang Seung-gi, Choi Yeon-soo, hereinafter ‘Run for the Election’). Hwang Seung-gi PD, actor Nana and Park Sung-hoon participated in this production presentation, which was conducted live online due to the aftermath of the spread of Covid-19.
PD Hwang Seung-gi said, “It seems that there was a misunderstanding because the name of the parties in the play are called Liberal and Conservative. What I thought with the author was to clearly show the view of politics from the perspective of ordinary young viewers and citizens.” Does not distinguish between progressive pay. “I’m going to do that for a character or composition,” he said.
Additionally, in relation to the revision of the character introduction, he said, “Character introductions are intended to make it easier for viewers to understand what is not usually in the drama, but we have corrected unnecessary parts that can be irrelevant or confused. We finished writing script until Episode 12. We haven’t any intention to emphasize our political views. We won’t correct script.”
PD Hwang Seung-gi said, “If you look at the drama, there is a content that anyone can relate to so that you do not have to consider the areas of concern. It’s an office romantic comedy. Focusing on romantic comedy, politics is one part included in the story. I hope you enjoy the drama without worry. I’m having fun at the shooting site.”
‘Run for the Election’ portrays a pleasant office romantic comedy about a woman who runs for the election, rather than finding a job, and a man who falls in love with the woman while helping her. It will be aired at 9:30 pm on the first day.
