BLACKPINK Jenny has established a unique position as the first female Korean artist to achieve the first and highest record on Youtube.

According to YG Entertainment on the 28th, Jenny’s ‘SOLO’ music video exceeded 500 million YouTube views at 4:20 am on the day.

It is rare that a solo artist’s music video, not a group, recorded a billion views, but Jenny’s ‘SOLO’ goes beyond that and confirms the steady love of global fans.

Jenny, who was the first runner of Black Pink’s solo project, swept the first place in the real-time, daily, and weekly charts of major domestic music charts when’SOLO’ was released in November 2018.

The global ripple power was also strong. ‘SOLO’ topped iTunes in 40 countries and was the first Korean female solo artist to be ranked #1 in the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart and top 10 in the United States.

In this moment, ‘SOLO’ music video set the shortest record as a Korean female solo singer, surpassing 100 million views in 23 days. Subsequently, it continued to break its record by surpassing 200 million views in 90 days, 300 million views in 182 days, and 400 million views in 13 months.

Meanwhile, Black Pink, which Jenny is in charge of, has taken the K-pop status to the next level by setting various shortest, first, and newest records in the world’s leading music charts and YouTube with the recently released title’How You Like That’.

Blackpink’s YouTube subscribers with over 20 billion views are overwhelming, including ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’, which has surpassed 1.2 billion views and retains the title of the highest number of K-pop group music videos. It currently has about 42.6 million subscribers, the largest number of female artists worldwide.

Black Pink is coming back with a second new song foreshadowed by a special collaboration artist in August. Those who were acclaimed in collaboration with pop star Lady Gaga in May are looking forward to seeing what artists will be in their song this time, and how surprisingly new records will be written.
