Group BLACKPINK finished shooting a music video ahead of the release of a new song in collaboration with Selena Gomez on the 28th.

YG Entertainment announced on the 19th that “BLACKPINK’s preparations for a worldwide comeback are proceeding well.”

The title of BLACKPINK’s new song is still wrapped in a veil. Except for the news that world-renowned pop star Selena Gomez is participating as a featuring artist, it is under strict security.

It is one of the big interests that Selena Gomez will appear in the music video of BLACKPINK’s new song. She posted a photo on Instagram on the 18th, and it was a pink car with a license plate marked ‘Selpink’. Accordingly, global fans poured out their expectations and curiosity about BLACKPINK’s music video set.

An official from YG said, “Please understand that I can’t tell you anything about the music video for the new song yet. But this song by BLACKPINK is a very cool music that goes well in the hot summer.”

It is expected to be a distinctly differentiated song from Black Pink’s existing mega hit songs ‘Kill This Love’ or ‘How You Like That’.

An official from YG explained, “If BLACKPINK showed the image of a hip-hop-based music swag and female warrior, the new song contains more of a cool and lovely charm.”

BLACKPINK not only swept major music charts at home and abroad with the pre-release title ‘How You Like That’ in June, but also secured its global presence by setting new YouTube records.

‘How You Like That’ broke a new K-pop record by ranking 2nd on the Spotify Global Top 50 Chart, and ranked 33rd and 20th respectively on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US and the Top 100 Official Singles in the UK, ranking the highest in the history of K-pop girl groups.

In addition, the music video recorded 86.3 million views on the first day, and was officially registered in a total of five categories in Guinness World Records, including’the most views on YouTube videos within 24 hours of public release’, and is successively achieving the shortest record in billions of views. The number of subscribers to BLACKPINK’s YouTube channel also exceeded 44.1 million, rising to the world’s No. 1 female artist and No. 4 both men and women.

BLACKPINK’s popularity is expected to accelerate with the release of a collaboration song with Selena Gomez on August 28th. On October 2nd, their first full album after 4 years of BLACKPINK’s debut has been announced, so their world class moves are drawing attention.
