Group BLACKPINK achieved another meaningful record on Spotify, the world’s largest music platform.
According to YG Entertainment on the 3rd, BLACKPINK’s ‘DDU-DU DDU-DU’ surpassed 300 million streaming on Spotify at 11:30 am on the day.
BLACKPINK’s ‘Kill This Love’ has been the only song of a K-pop girl group that has exceeded 300 million streaming in Spotify, where the weight and influence in the global music market is increasing. This is a confirmation of the constant love and interest of global fans for BLACKPINK.
The Grammys also focused on BLACKPINK’s remarkable growth process through the ‘For The Record’ series.
Grammys official praised BLACKPINK as “the artist showed off themselves as artists with addictive music, splendid performances, eye-catching music videos, and perfect live shows that filled the concert hall.”
“It is no longer surprising that BLACKPINK is setting a new record and writing history. Black Pink has risen to become a global superstar,” he expressed.
BLACKPINK’s recently released ‘Ice Cream’ also got a good response, raising expectations for their first full album ‘The Album’, which will be unveiled on October 2nd.
Grammys said, “BLACKPINK’s ‘The Album’ has been raising great expectations from before its release,” and he was convinced that “BLACKPINK will climb more charts and capture more fans’ hearts.”
Meanwhile, ‘Ice Cream’, with BLACKPINK and Selena Gomez, reached #1 on the iTunes Worldwide Song Chart on the first day of its release on the 28th. The music video exceeded 100 million views in a day and a half after it was released.
