The musical ‘The Great Comet’ delayed the opening of the performance.
Shownote Co., Ltd., the production company of the musical ‘The Great Comet’, announced on the official SNS on the 4th that the opening of the musical ‘The Great Comet’, which was scheduled to open on September 14, 2020, has been postponed to 2021 due to the spread of Covid-19.
The production company said, “The musical ‘The Great Comet’ is a special performance in which the boundary between the stage and the audience is different from the general performance. It is necessary to show the performance in a safer situation and in the future to fully convey the intense and special emotion of ‘The Great Comet'”.
The company added, “We sincerely wish that the Coronavirus will end soon and meet the audience in a healthy manner.”
The musical ‘The Great Comet’ (Original title: Natasha, Pierre & the Great Comet of 1812, produced by Shownote Co., Ltd.) is the story of some of Tolstoy’s masterpiece novel ‘War and Peace’ by Dave Malloy, the novelist and playwriter in the American performing world. This is a sung-throgh musical created in collaboration with stage director Rachel Chavkin.
The musical ‘The Great Comet’ was scheduled to be performed at the Universal Art Center from September 15 to November 29, 2020. The Korean premiere cast was named Hong Kwang-ho, K Will, Jung Eun-ji, Lee Hae-na, Lee Chung-ju, Park Kang-hyun, and Ko Eun-seong.
