Yang Hyun-seok (51), a former YG Entertainment representative producer, said his current job as the former job.
On the afternoon of the 9th, the former representative of Yang went to the first trial on the charges of gambling held at the hearing of the 9th exclusive criminal (Judge Park Soo-hyun) of the Seoul Western District Law.
On that day, former CEO Yang said, “I worked as a music producer for YG Entertainment” to a question from a judge asking about his current job before the full-scale trial.
The prosecution said, “Three defendants including Yang Hyun-seok have confirmed that they have gambling 400 million won over 24 times, and defendant Lim has gambling over 240 million won. It was prosecuting for gambling.”
In response, the attorney said, “I admit all the facts of the prosecution,” and admitted all the accused, including former CEO Yang.
Former CEO Yang left Korea seven times from July 2015 to January 2019, and has been accused of gambling a total of $33,5460 (approximately 388 million won) worth of money at a Las Vegas casino in the United States with the other party.
The police, who investigated Yang’s former representative, sent the prosecution to the prosecution on the charges of habitual gambling, but the Seoul West District Prosecutors’ Office reported that habitual gambling was not established, taking into account precedents and the number of gambling, and filed a brief prosecution last May for simple gambling charges. The prosecutors’ prosecution was dismissed as’no charge’ for the alleged violations of the Foreign Exchange Transaction Act of both CEOs.
The trial was initially scheduled to take place on the 14th of last month, but it was held on that day according to the defendant’s request for postponement.
