The dispute over the management rights of Fantagio was settled dramatically.
Fantagio (CEO Park Hae-seon), a KOSDAQ listed company and one of the leading entertainment companies in Korea, has been fighting lawsuits over management rights. However, all disputes ended dramatically as an amicable agreement was recently reached between the current management and the largest shareholder, L&A Holdings (CEO Park Sun-hoo).
The current management and the largest shareholder met at the headquarters of Fantagio in Gangnam-gu, Seoul on the afternoon of the 8th and agreed to withdraw all the management rights dispute lawsuits filed by both sides without any conditions.
The dispute began in April this year when L&A Holdings took over the position of the largest shareholder from Gold Finance Korea, the largest shareholder and the company headquartered in China. The litigation battle intensified due to misunderstandings between the new shareholders and the management, but with this meeting, the current management and the largest shareholder agreed to jointly manage them without any conditions.
The two sides agreed to put together capital and capabilities for the ‘Global Hallyu’ by mobilizing the capabilities of Fantagio, which has many actors, including idol groups ASTRO and Weki Meki.
Fantagio said, “It is true that the situation inside and outside is not easy due to Covid-19. But, here are a lot of good news, related to Ong Seong-woo and Astro member Cha Eun-woo, who will film dramas as the main characters, this fall.”
Ong Seong-woo will appear as the protagonist in the JTBC Friday and Saturday drama ‘Number of Cases’, which airs for the first time on the 25th of this month. In the second half of the year, Cha Eun-woo is scheduled to appear as the protagonist of the tvN drama ‘Goddess Advent’, which turns a popular webtoon into a drama.
In addition, ASTRO’s members Moonbin and Sanha will release their first mini album ‘IN-OUT’ as a unit on the 14th. Another member of ASTRO, MJ, appeared in the musical ‘Jamie’ and was recognized for her excellent singing and acting skills from musical fans.
In addition, the girl group Weki Meki is planning to resume their activities with a mini album released in the second half of the year. Weki Meki, known for its name as perfect choreography, has eight-member group, including Kim Do-yeon and Choi Yoo-jeong from Produce 101. Recently, a Korean wave group has been strengthened by receiving proposals from Japanese record companies and management companies to conduct activities in Japan with favorable conditions.
