Shoo (Yoo Soo-young, 38) from the girl group SES tries to settle an appeal in a civil suit related to gambling debt.

On October 30th, at 11 am, Shoo’s gambling debt repayment lawsuit will be settled at the Seoul High Court. In 2017, she borrowed about 400 million won to Mr. Park at a casino in Las Vegas, USA, but was sued for returning the loan claim last year because he did not pay it back.

The first trial court decided to refer the case to mediation and handed over the case to the Seoul 2 mediation committee, but the agreement was broken due to the failure of mediation.

Shoo said, “Because the money was loaned for illegal gambling, it cannot be returned in accordance with the provisions of the Civil Law that’unlawful cause wages cannot be claimed.” However, it was not accepted and the judge said, ” Return over 366 million won,” ruling in favor of the plaintiff.

Shoo appealed against this. It is noteworthy whether an agreement will be reached as it is referred again to mediation at the appeal hearing.

From August 2016 to May 2018, Shoo was accused of habitually committing gambling worth about 790 million won in Macau, etc., and was sentenced to two years probation and 80 hours of social service in June in prison.

In addition, Shoo is having a conflict with the tenants of a multi-family home in Jinan-dong, Hwaseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, which he owns. As Park won the state with seizure hung on the entire building owned by Shoo, the tenants filed a lawsuit for returning the rent to Shoo as the return of the rent became uncertain. She received an order to pay the bank interest and principal for loss, civil lawsuit fees and non-return of the house rental deposit, but it is known that she has avoided contacting him, claiming that she doesn’t have money.
