Director Kotaro Tamura of ‘Josee, the Tiger and the Fish’ revealed his thoughts on the selection of the closing film.
On the afternoon of the 29th, during an online press conference for the closing film of the 25th Busan International Film Festival ‘Josee the Tiger and the Fish’, Director Kotaro Tamura attended. Programmer Park Sun-young also joined.
Director Kotaro Tamura said, “I never thought it would be screened in the world premiere on such a big stage. It’s an honor.”
“It’s a pity to see it while the audience is small, but I think the work that you can enjoy comfortably has been completed. Please also look forward to the audience,” he added.
‘Josee, the Tiger and the Fish’ is a youth melody that contains a love breakup between an ordinary college student Tsuneo, a loved one, a tiger, a fish, and a little special Josee who wants to see the sea. It is based on a short story by Seiko Tanabe. It is well known to domestic fans as a live-action film made by director Isshin Inudo in 2003 with the leading actors Satoshi Tsumabuki, Chizuru Ikewaki, and Juri Ueno.
