Billboard magazine in the US focused on CL, which is about to come back with ‘+ALPHA+’ in the first half of 2021.
On the 14th (local time), Billboard released the title of “K-Pop Queen’s Comeback: ‘My album is like writing a book’”. Even reported in depth.
The article that began with the description of the James Corden Show video of ‘+HWA+’ released last year conveyed the voice of CL, starting everything from scratch.
CL said, “I know exactly where I want to go, and of course it won’t be the same. But I want to start here.” She expressed her firm determination to start as an independent artist. “2020 was a new beginning and a year to rewrite my own story. I can freely share my other side.”
Billboard reminded me that 2NE1’s ‘Crush’ album, which was released in 2014, reached No. 61, the highest ranking on Billboard at the time. Accordingly, Billboard quoted Kim Hae-ju, a K-pop expert and assistant professor at the University of Berkeley’s Professional Music Department, introduced CL’s influence on K-pop, “She expanded the image of a female K-pop idol. He contributed to paving the way for us to be able to.”
“It’s a good thing about working independently,” said CL, saying, “It will draw 100% of what’s going on in the past few years” for the new music it will release in 2021.
Billboard told CL’s Very Cherry, telling a story about her father’s book as a child, saying, “That inspired me. I ended the interview with a comment saying ‘Okay, you are going back to me.’
CL, which showed her still charisma and more mature charm through ‘+HWA+’ and ‘+5 Star+’ last year, is currently focusing on working on the new album ‘+ALPHA’.
Along with this, they have collaborated with Kim Shim-ya and DPR IAN last year, and on the 18th, they are continuing their musically active activities by participating in Epik High’s new song ‘Rosario’ as a feature.
