Can “Sisyphus,” a drama starring Cho Seung-woo and Park Shin-hye, be a relief pitcher for JTBC dramas?
JTBC’s ambitious 10th anniversary special drama “Sisyphus” (written by Jeon Chan-ho, directed by Jin-hyuk, produced by Drama House, JTBC Studio) will be unveiled today (17th).
“Sisyphus” is a fantasy mystery drama about Han Tae-sul, a genius engineer who tries to find out who is hiding his identity in our world, and the journey of the Savior Kang Seo-hae, who has gone back a long and dangerous path for him.
Director Jin-hyuk, Lee Je-in and Jeon Chan-ho, who are writing unbeatable myths such as “Legends of the Blue Sea,” “Dr. Stranger” and “The Lord’s Sun,” have joined forces to draw attention from both inside and outside the broadcasting industry.
It is expected to present a new paradigm of genre with innovative visuals and solid compositions and stories that cross time and space that have never been seen before.
Director Cho Seung-woo, Park Shin-hye, and Jin Hyuk attended an online production presentation for JTBC’s 10th anniversary special drama “Sisyphus” (written by Lee Je-in, directed by Jeon Chan-ho) on the afternoon of the 17th.
Director Jin Hyuk said, “Sisyphus looks like a fantasy, but it’s based on reality. I listened to many experts and studied it. They are new artists, and I wondered, ‘Are there such geniuses?’ While looking at the works of the contest. You have a great imagination. We tried to create a realistic future.”
Cho Seung-woo, who plays the role of genius engineer Han Tae-sul, said, “The script was very interesting. I remember watching it with a lot of fun. It was all over the place. It was interesting that there was a world where the future and the present coexist. “I thought the setting of becoming a ruined Korea in 2035 was appalling, and I was curious about the way it was implemented,”
Cho Seung-woo explained, “The decisive reason is that I chose it because of the compassion I have in common, but it was the first genre that had everything in it, so I chose it with interest and expectations.”
Park Shin-hye expressed strong satisfaction with her senior actor Cho Seung-woo, saying, “It was 100 out of 100.”
She said, “There are definitely scenes that are burdensome, and sometimes it’s overwhelming even though it’s definitely what I have to do when I shoot on the spot.” But every moment, there was always a senior next to me,” he said. “There are things that work because I trusted them with my will, and there are many moments like that, so I wait for my senior.” “I realized the difference when I was filming with my senior when I was filming separately, and I realized that I did it with a lot of will to my senior.”
“I joined the drama first and thought it would be good for Cho Seung-woo to do this.” “Did the script go to the senior?” “Will the senior have time?” We talked about it and expected it, but when I heard that he was really doing it, I heard that he was going to do it, and it made my heart crackle. “I’ve called for a good time.
Park Shin-hye performs colorful yet intense action scenes in the drama. Park Shin-hye said, “About a month and a half before the shooting began, I tried to learn basic things by combining with the action team. In the case of future sales, the street of Myeong-dong and the location of the wilderness will be carried out separately. It’s like a fairy tale. “I filmed the future scene first since May last year, but as I became more and more familiar with the set, it seems to be my present, and I don’t remember the situation in the West Sea now that I met Tae-sul.”
Cho Seung-woo praised Park Shin-hye for her action performance. “They call me an action senior, and of course I was called a ‘Left-footed Legend’ in the past, but the action now is different from when I did it,” he said. “I was surprised to see Park Shin-hye’s kick speed.” Even if I was in my 20s, I wouldn’t have been able to do it.
“I’ve been filming for five months, and Park Shin-hye has been filming for seven months. Rather, he guided me. At the scene, Park Shin-hye was a general. He took care of the staff first even if he was hurt and sick at the scene. “He’s a great person before the actor, not to mention his acting.”
Director Jin Hyuk said, “I devoted my efforts to casting Cho Seung-woo and Park Shin-hye.” “I’m in the middle of a multiples camp and I’m There were not many actors in Korea who could catch and lead characteristics from the beginning, so I wanted to cast Cho Seung-woo and Park Shin-hye from the beginning. “If it doesn’t work, let’s close it and do something else.”
Then he said, “I’m an audience. “It was fun to watch as if watching Cho Seung-woo’s musical, as if watching Park Shin-hye’s movie,” he said. “I hope it will be a drama that gives you hope.”
“Sisyphus” is a drama about time travel. The unfamiliar terms “uploader” and “downloader” in the video show the originality of “Sipes.” The spectacular visuals, which have not been seen in other dramas, are also expected to catch the eyes and ears of viewers. The current state-of-the-art technology that Tae-sul lives in makes the eyes happy, and the future landscape of Dystopia where the West Sea lives makes the mouth open.
Moreover, as Tae-sul is a genius engineer, the production team’s statement that the way of moving time and space will be different from the same drama is added, raising expectations. The scene where the body of the West Sea, which has moved from the future to the past, “flashes” adds strength to the previous message. In addition to this, he added the martial arts against fate and the spectacular action of the West Sea. “The Painter of the Wind,” “The Brilliant Legacy,” and “Sisyphus” are works that director Jin-hyuk, Lee Je-in, and writer Jeon Chan-ho, who have produced works that have drawn attention every time, such as “The Lord’s Sun,” “Doctor Stranger” and “Legend of the Blue Sea.”
It will premiere at 9 p.m. on the 17th, and will be released to more than 190 countries around the world on Netflix on the same day.
