Broadcaster Ji Yeon-soo (41) shed tears as she revealed the divorce story with her ex-husband, Eli, 30, from the group U-Kiss.
Lee Soo-jin, Yoo Catnip, Kim Sang-hyuk, and Ji Yeon-soo, who returned as splendid singles after divorce, appeared in the SBS Plus entertainment program “Kang Ho-dong’s meal”.
Among them, many people eyed Ji Yeon-soo, who announced the divorce news with Eli in November last year. She said, “I envy all of you. Because I have become completely free, I haven’t been able to organize my documents yet. Eventually, I think I have to go to lawsuit due to the troubles in my divorce.”
Eli and Ji Yeon-soo, who became married after registering their marriage in June 2014, married in 2017. At the time, the two became a hot topic as an older and younger couple who overcame the age gap at the age of 11. Afterwards, Eli and Ji Yeon-soo appeared on the KBS2 entertainment program ‘Mr. House Husband’ and showed sweet appearances, but they were broken in 2020 after 6 years of marriage.
Ji Yeon-soo said, “Because the broadcast is connected to livelihood, I had to pretend to be good even though I had a bad relationship with (Eli). It’s been a long time since I’ve been a couple at Show Window. Honestly, it was worse than others. The reason I decided to divorce was because I wanted to live. I wanted to be happy. It’s good that you don’t have to postpone after divorce.”
In particular, Ji Yeon-soo was shocked by confessing to Eli that he was notified of the divorce by phone. He said, “There was no work in Korea, and since Eli left the idol group, we went to the US together in July of last year. I needed more documents to get my green card, so I came to Korea for a while to prepare it, and I was notified of the divorce by phone.”
Ji Yeon-soo said that at first he clung to Eli because of the child, but after hearing Eli’s reunion conditions, her heart disappeared. Ji Yeon-soo said, “Eli, who was a dual citizen, is currently unmarried in the United States due to the disappearance of her Korean nationality. I am a married woman of Korean nationality. He told me that living with my family in the United States without filing papers and living with my child in Korea is a reunion. I refused because I had a different idea.”
She said she had endured taking sleeping pills for two and a half months without seeing the child, confessing that she even committed suicide.
Ji Yeon-soo said, “One day, I was standing by the railing on the 20th floor. But when I die, my mother must be the first thing I find out, but I shouldn’t make my mother sad because she wants to see my child. After holding on like that, I met the child again. I am so happy to be together now.”
