Yoon Yeo-jung and Han Ye-ri, the protagonists of ‘Minari’, have received an official invitation to the Academy Awards and are adjusting the schedule.
On the 9th, Han Ye-ri’s management company announced on the 9th Maeil Business Daily Star Today, “Han Ye-ri received an invitation from the Academy Awards and is currently adjusting the schedule.”
Yoon Yeo-jung also said, “We are receiving an invitation from the academy and are adjusting the schedule,. However, due to the COVID-19, we are waiting because we have not received the exact schedule from the academy.”
The film ‘Minari’ (Director Lee Issac Chung), which continues to receive awards in major categories at international film festivals, is the Best Picture, Director’s Award, Best Actor Award, Best Supporting Actor Award at the 93rd Academy Awards held in Los Angeles, USA on April 25 (local time). He was nominated for a screenplay award, a music award, and a total of six categories.
In particular, Yoon Yeo-jung was the first Korean actress to be nominated for the Oscar for Best Actress, receiving the Best Supporting Actress Award at the recently held American Actors Guild Award (SAG).
‘Minari’ is a work about a very special journey of a Korean family who left for an unfamiliar United States in search of hope. It was released in Korea on the 3rd of last month and is in a long-term box office.
