Broadcaster Shin Dong-yeop and singer and actress Suzy will be MCs of the Baeksang Arts Awards.
The two will be confirmed as MCs for the 57th Baeksang Arts Awards in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, on May 13, leading the three-hour awards ceremony.
Shin Dong-yeop, the nation’s top broadcaster, has been holding the microphone for four years after taking the MC role for three consecutive years at the Baeksang Arts Awards from the 50th to 52nd episodes. He leads the awards ceremony with accurate information delivery and witty remarks that relax candidates.
It is no better as a live MC, and this year, it has been nominated for the TV entertainment award, so it has qualified both as an MC and a candidate.
Suzy, who has held the microphone for six consecutive years, is now a true “white goddess” and has a great symbolism. She is a representative actress in her 20s who starts with a girl group and goes to and from the theater. Her calm hosting skills are as good as her outstanding beauty. She already works with Shin Dong-yup in the fifth inning, and now she is so perfect that she can recognize the timing just by looking at her eyes.
The 57th Baeksang Arts Awards will target Korean feature films and performances released in Korea at the same time as contents provided on terrestrial, general-length, cable, OTT, and web from May 1, 2020 to April 11, 2021. However, works that were excluded due to last year’s candidate screening period were classified as subject to this year’s screening. In order to refer to various voices in the industry, 40 professional evaluation committee members of the industry conducted a preliminary survey before selecting the final candidate.
It will be broadcast live on JTBC from 9 p.m. on May 13 and will be held without any notice considering the COVID-19.
