The Brit Awards, the first British prestigious pop music award nominated by the group BTS (BTS), will be held with 4,000 spectators.
The “2021 Brit Awards” will be held at O2 Arena in London on May 11 (local time), and audiences can enjoy the performance as before COVID-19 (new coronavirus infection) without wearing a mask or distancing themselves. It is the first large-scale indoor performance in the UK in more than a year since the Covid-19.
The British government released a press release on the 22nd and announced that it will hold the Brit Awards ceremony as part of an event research program to test the possibility of large-scale performances in the Covid-19 era.
However, the audience must present the negative results of the Covid-19 quick test and can be asked to conduct a genetic amplification (PCR) test after the performance.
The 2,500 tickets to the Brit Awards will be allocated to essential workers in London who had to work during the Covid-19 lockdown, and the rest will be given to award nominees and music industry officials.
BTS was nominated for the International Group category for her hit song ‘Dynamite’.
They will compete for trophies with rock band Fu Fighters, three-member sister band Heim, hip-hop duo Run the Jewels, and punk band Fontaine D.C. Attention is focusing on whether BTS, the first Korean singer to be nominated, will be able to soothe his failure to win a Grammy with a Brit Award.
The Brit Awards, which began in 1977, is an award ceremony organized by the British Recording Industry Association, which boasts the highest authority in music in the UK. It was held in February every year but postponed due to the pandemic.
