[93rd Academy Awards] ‘Minari’ missed Screenplay Award…’Promising Young Woman’ Honored

Director Lee Issac Chung of the movie ‘Minari’ was nominated for the Oscars Screenplay Award, but he did not win the award.

On the morning of the 26th (Korean time), the 93rd Academy Awards ceremony was held in Los Angeles, USA. It was conducted face-to-face with more than 170 people gathered.

On this day, ‘Minari’ was nominated for the Screenplay Award, but the trophy went to ‘Promising Young Woman’.

Coach Emerald Fennel said at the awards ceremony that day, “I was with great people and people with genius. This award is not a single award, but because we had a really great team.” Then, she shared her joy by calling the names of the leading actors.

On the other hand, ‘Minari’, which depicts the settlers of Korean American families in the 1980s, was nominated for Best Supporting Actress and Best Actor at the Academy Awards this year, as well as the Best Screenplay and Music Awards at the Academy Awards.
