On the 27th, PD Kim Tae-ho of MBC ‘How do you play?’ and Professor Seo Kyung-duk of Sungshin Women’s University made a multilingual video related to kimchi and announced on the 27th that they would make it known to the world.
This video, produced jointly by Daesang Jonggajip and the World Kimchi Research Institute, introduces the history and characteristics of kimchi, and the process of developing kimchi into a differentiated form from other pickled vegetables through ingredients such as seasoning and salted fish, and in a new form today. It contains the image of kimchi that is evolving. It was first released in Korean and English for a total of 4 minutes.
Prof. Seo, who planned this video, said, “Due to the Covid-19, people all over the world are interested in strengthening immunity, and I wanted to spread the correct information about kimchi to the world.” He added, “Starting with this video, we are planning a series video on the theme of kimchi culture and global kimchi, and we plan to release it within the first half of the year.”
PD Kim, who was in charge of the narration of the Korean video, said, “I am happy to participate in the production of meaningful videos about Kimchi, and I hope that domestic and foreign netizens will watch this video a lot.”
During the ‘Infinite Challenge’ period, Prof. Kim and Prof. Seo took the lead in ‘globalization of Korean food’ by posting full-page advertisements for bibimbap in the New York Times and video advertisements on the New York Times Square.
Meanwhile, Professor Seo Kyung-duk has been running a campaign to promote Kimchi to the world through various social media such as Instagram and Facebook, starting with Kimchi advertisement in the New York Times in January.
