Youn Yuh-jung’s 1971 screen debut film “Fire Woman” will be released at CGV Signature K theaters from May 1. Fire Woman is a mystery drama of unconventional and madness that takes place when a housekeeper (Youn Yuh-jung), who went to Seoul from the countryside and got a job at a rich family, abortions the child of a host man.
“Fire Woman” is Youn Yuh-jung’s screen debut film, which was active as a TV actress. Youn Yuh-jung drew rave reviews by playing the role of the housekeeper “The Master,” who drives a family to ruin, showing her character’s madness and obsession with bold and outstanding acting that is not like a rookie. Youn Yuh-jung won the Rookie of the Year award at the 10th Daejong Film Festival, the 8th Blue Dragon Film Award for Best Actress, and the 4th Cesins International Fantastic Film Festival for Best Actress.
Since its release in 1971, “Fire Woman”, which has been drawing attention with its first theatrical release in 50 years, adds meaning to the plan that can shed light on the beginning and present of actress Youn Yuh-jung. Youn Yuh-jung, who is currently at the peak of her acting life with “Minari”, will once again captivate the audience with her unique visuals and unconventional acting of new actress Youn Yuh-jung in her 20s.
