The group BTS agency HYBE has been selected as the “TIME100 Most Influential Companies in the World” published by the U.S. weekly magazine “TIME.”
HYBE, along with Google, Tesla and Apple, was listed on Time’s website on the 27th (local time) as one of the world’s 100 most influential companies in 2021. Korean companies included Samsung and Hive.
Time said editors, correspondents and industry experts from all over the world have selected and listed companies that have “extraordinary effects on the world.”
“In October, there was the largest corporate disclosure in Korea in the last three years, based on K-pop, Korea’s most popular export content,” Time said. “HYBE (formerly Big Hit Entertainment), established in 2005, was formerly an underdog (less likely team) agency in the fierce Korean music industry.
Time went on to say, “Like Disney in the past, HYBE pays attention to artists’ IPs (Intellectual Property Rights) that can develop into a world of fan-friendly experiences and products.” “HYBE invested more than $60 million (approximately 6.67 billion) in YG Plus in late January, and in April, acquired Ithaca Holdings Media Group for $1 billion (approximately 1.112 trillion).
Time has been selecting the world’s 100 most influential companies every year, and the HYBE’s list of the 100 most influential companies in the world has been released for the first time this year.
