CJ ENM will join hands with HBO Max and Endemol Shine Boomdog to enter South America.
CJ ENM announced on the 6th that it will start planning and developing K-POP audition programs for the South American market in partnership with Warner Media’s OTT ‘HBO Max’ and global production company ‘Endemol Shine Boomdog’.
The project is expected to allow CJ ENM’s Mnet crew to plan and develop in Korea and meet audition programs featuring South American applicants in South America. Mnet’s accumulated planning and development capabilities for audition programs are aimed at presenting content containing South American sentiments through collaboration with Endemol Shine Boomdog.
If the program succeeds, a male group with K-POP DNA will be born in South America in the future. CJ ENM is the first Korean company to create an audition program for South America.
K-POP artists and South American stars will participate in the screening together, and male idol groups created by training under K-POP’s idol production system will be active on the global stage in the future.
South America is a young country with a median age of 31, and is considered a place with great growth potential in the entertainment industry. Spanish, spoken by most countries in South America, is the second most spoken language in the world, and the industry analyzes that success in the South American market will be a bridgehead for global expansion.
“This collaboration with HBO Max and Endemol Shine Boomdog adds meaning to CJ ENM’s content production capabilities as recognized in the global market,” a CJ ENM official said. “We plan to include local characteristics of South America through cooperation with local producers.”
