‘1976 Harlan County’ Lee Hong-ki, returning after discharge “I chose to grow in appearance, acting, and singing”

Singer Lee Hong-ki revealed the reason why he chose the musical ‘Harlan County USA’ as his comeback work after being discharged from the military.

On the afternoon of the 3rd, a press call for the creative musical ‘1976 Harlan County’ was held at the Grand Theater of the Chungmu Art Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by Oh Jong-hyuk, Lee Hong-ki, Sandeul, Kim Ryun-ho, and Ahn Se-ha.

 Lee Hong-ki said, “The feeling of being happy doing this work is different from the feeling of having to do it when I first received this work.”

He said, “When I first got it, I thought that doing this work would help me a lot. Daniel is a character who is growing due to some incident, and when he came out to society after being discharged from the military, he wanted to be a friend whose appearance, acting, singing ability, etc. “I chose it because I am a fan,” he explained. “As I do it, I have a lot of thoughts and a lot of attachment.”

The creative musical “Harlan County USA” tells the story more than 100 years after the abolition of American slavery, with workers shouting against the tyranny of a mining company in Harlan County, a mining town in the southeastern U.S. state of Kentucky, and a cry for a new tomorrow.

Oh Jong-hyuk, Lee Hong-ki (FT Island), Sandeul (B1A4) will be on this musical as ‘Danie’, Kim Ryun-ho, Ahn Se-ha play the role of Riley, Lee Kun-kyun plays the role of John , Kim Ah-sun plays the role of Natalie, Lim Chan-min as Elena, Lee Sang-ah, Lim Byung-geun, Kim Ji-chul and Patterson as Patterson will appear. It will be performed at the Chungmu Art Center Grand Theater until July 4.
